Charmingly situated on the picturesque shores of Lough Derg at Garrykennedy, Portroe, the Georgina Campbell recognised Larkin’s Bar and Restaurant is without doubt one of the finest dining locations in Tipperary.
A hallmark traditional Irish bar and restaurant for many years now, Larkin’s reopened under the new management of Maura and Cormac Boyle and family in March 2006. Maura studied Hotel and Catering Management in Cathal Brugha Street in Dublin for three years and has 20 years’ experience in that area. “It’s good to be doing it for myself after all those years”, she says one year on from setting up at Larkin’s.

Cormac comes from a financial background and has proved a huge support in that area from the beginning of the project. Their four children, Cillian, Cathal, Muireann and Diarmuid all help in the running of the business, particularly during the summer months when it’s all hands on deck and no excuses taken! Together with a mainly local staff.
The Boyles have been living in Garrykennedy for many years and, with Maura and Cormac both coming from farming backgrounds, they feel very strongly about using as much Irish sourced produce as possible, including meat, chicken and eggs sourced from Quality Assurance Schemes. Larkin’s has received the Féile Bia Seal of Approval for serving quality Irish food, and the restaurant was recently recommended by the prestigious Georgina Campbell Guide for fine dining in Ireland.

Daytime Menu
A bar menu is available during the day and on it you will find items like, fish chowder, smoked salmon, chicken wings, Irish sirloin steak, fish & chips, traditional Irish bacon & cabbage, Irish stew, mixed grill, along with many more fresh and seasonal items.
Evening A La Carte
At night things move up a notch or two where a lovely a la carte menu is available and on that you will find starters such as: golden fried brie, Atlantic mussels, Warm Italian Bruschetta, spicy chicken salad, seafood salad or whatever is in season. Main courses such as: roast duckling, Irish T- bone, fillet and sirloin steak, the days catch and more of what is fresh and seasonal.

We have a range of tasty menu options for any special occasion, whether it’s a set menu of some A La Carte items, a Buffet or garden party BBQ we can accommodate your needs. At Larkin’s we are child friendly too!

Functions
Larkin’s also offers the perfect setting for functions like private parties, weddings, christenings, Holy Communion, Confirmation or any special occasion. The main dining room can cater for up to 60 people, the second dining room can cater for up to 35, and the loft area can cater for 20 people.
Music
Traditional music and contemporary music sessions. Music can be heard every weekend with great Traditional music sessions on Sunday afternoon and Wednesday Night Sessions for the summer with Traditional Irish Dancers!
